Pemberton Heights
Hi. Morgan Smith here with the Austin Street Beat. Today we’re headed to a tiny exclusive community: Pemberton Heights.
Located in Central Austin, Pemberton Heights is one of Austin’s wealthiest and most historic neighborhoods. It has the feel of a small, community neighborhood rich with history and century-old heritage Oak trees. Just northwest of downtown, Pemberton Heights encompasses the western edge of the Shoal Creek Greenbelt, and is just east of Hartford Park.
The neighborhood is bounded by Northwood Road on the north, Lamar Boulevard/Shoal Creek to the east, 24th Street/Windsor Road to the south and Mopac to the west. Pemberton Heights offers a diverse mix of stately homes with modernist architecture, historical homes and charming cottages. You can expect to see everything from Italian Renaissance Revival to Craftsman, to Spanish Colonial architecture. This neighborhood is very exclusive, and widely known as the “Beverly Hills of Austin.”
Locals enjoy several beautiful parks and green spaces along with notable schools – Casis Elementary, O’Henry Middle School and Austin High School. The neighborhood is elevated in the hills of Austin and offers expansive views of downtown Austin, the Capitol, The University of Texas and Shoal Creek.
The median age in Pemberton Heights is 36, about 5 years older than the median age for the city of Austin, making Pemberton Heights a great place for folks at many stages of life. Great lifestyle, pretty streets and easy access to downtown make Pemberton Heights highly desirable for home buyers.
Thank you for joining me today. Please call me if you have questions about Pemberton Heights or any other Austin Community.
